i love essays on books by any of my favourite erudites. maybe i just love that they find books as precious a thing as me, seeing as they find it necessary to write about the beauty of collecting books or the life-changing potential of a good dog-earred volume... or, perhaps they feel the need to prove that reading is simply a more cost-effective hobby than smoking.
